Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 223 – Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Act of 2016 – bipartisan legislation she cosponsored to reauthorize the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI).
“I am pleased to help the House pass this legislation that is critical to the health of our waters,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “As a Member of the House Invasive Species Caucus, I am continuing to work at the federal level to raise awareness and work towards solutions to protect our natural ecology and our environment. The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative is an important, bipartisan program to protect these natural treasures and prevent and control invasive species and their impacts on these natural habitats.”
