Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has announced a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan totaling $2,734,000 to be awarded to Cerow Arena, an existing community center in the town of Clayton. The funding will be used to fund a 12,500 square foot addition and improve building accessibility, office space, and provide upgrades for the facility to maintain its Red Cross Shelter Certification.
“I am excited to announce that the town of Clayton will be receiving this critical funding to revitalize their important community center,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “This loan will allow the center to remain an important part of the Clayton community for many years to come. I am a strong advocate for the rural development of our North Country communities through projects like these, and look forward to continuing my work to ensure our region has access to resources to further enhance our communities.”
"This is exciting news for Clayton and we are very appreciative of the support from Congresswoman Stefanik and the USDA,” said Lance Peterson, Sr. Supervisor of the Town of Clayton. “Without them, this would not have been possible. We look forward to getting the project started soon, as the Cerow Arena is a major economic driver for our town."
