Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today voted in favor of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Commemorative Coin Act, legislation that directs the Department of Treasury to mint and issue $5 gold coins, $1 silver coins, and half-dollar clad coins emblematic of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor’s mission is to commemorate the sacrifice of America’s servicemen and women who were killed or wounded by enemy action. Congresswoman Stefanik is a cosponsor of this legislation.
“I am proud to help the House pass this legislation to further honor our nation’s men and women who sacrificed so much in the name of our freedoms,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “The work of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is so important, and this bill will further their mission. I look forward to President Trump signing this bill into law.”
