Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik announced over $2 million in funding for Head Start Projects in Warren and Jefferson Counties. The Warren County Head Start and Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County will receive funding to promote the readiness of children under the age of 5 from low-income families through education, health, social and other services.
“I am proud to announce that communities in both Warren and Jefferson counties will receive this funding for important children’s programs” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “The Head Start program continues to provide crucial services to children and families in the North Country, preparing them for success in the classroom and at home. I will continue to advocate for programs like Head Start that have significant positive impacts on our rural communities.”
“Community Action Planning Council is very pleased to receive this grant and provide quality early childhood education for 275 three and four year old’s in Jefferson County; as well as family services that include parent involvement, health and screening services,” said Melinda Gault, Executive Director of Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County. “We look forward to working with our community partners again this year."
