Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik cosponsored the Pharmacy DIR Reform to Reduce Senior Drug Costs Act (H.R. 3554), legislation which would lower out-of-pocket costs at the pharmacy counter for patients. This legislation would also help preserve patient access to independent pharmacies, which provide critical patient care in underserved and rural areas.
Specifically, the bill would enhance transparency and cost-predictability for seniors and provide greater clarity to pharmacies regarding Direct and Indirect Remuneration (DIR) fees.
“I am committed to delivering resources to protect our seniors in the North Country,” Stefanik said. “This legislation will make prescription drugs more affordable and ensure our seniors will have access to the medications they need. I’m proud to join this effort, so seniors and residents of the North Country can continue to have access to affordable drugs.”
