Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today joined her colleagues in writing a letter to Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Hoyer requesting they allow the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to publish a full cost estimate of their radical reconciliation package before forcing the House to vote on this legislation.
“Democrats are so desperate to ram through their radical agenda, they are not even letting the American people know how much it will cost,” Stefanik said. “We already know future generations will be paying the price for Democrats’ largest tax increase in American history. This bill is over 2,000 pages of Far-Left policies that the American people have already rejected. Democrats must stop hiding the truth from our constituents.”
In the letter, led by Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.), the lawmakers noted that the Administration claims this plan will add “zero dollars” to the deficit, but some estimates have said it will add trillions to the national debt.
