Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) “emergency” rule requiring private companies to enforce a COVID-19 vaccine mandate:
“Joe Biden’s forced vaccine mandate is unconstitutional, unlawful, and an authoritarian power grab that has become a hallmark of his failed presidency.
“This is a massive overreach of federal power into the lives of millions of private citizens.
“This Administration is working to control every aspect of Americans' lives at the expense of our job creators and businesses, and it will only exacerbate the crises Democrats have created.
“Two hospitals in New York’s 21st District have already stopped delivering babies due to authoritarian vaccine mandates. Further mandates will only make Biden’s workforce shortage worse.
“Mandates and fear are no way to govern, but it is how the Authoritarian Biden Regime is choosing to rule.
“The American people should have the freedom to make the best decisions for their families, not be forced to comply with illegal mandates from a power hungry government.”
Stefanik is joining her colleagues on the House Education and Labor Committee in introducing a Congressional Review Act resolution to nullify this rule.
