Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today released the following statement after Jim Malatras announced his resignation as Chancellor of the State University of New York (SUNY):
“From the beginning of Cuomo's criminal scandals, I have been the leading voice holding the Worst Governor in America and his entire complicit taxpayer-funded staff accountable. I have been pushing for swift action to purge Cuomo’s circle of corruption from New York including SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras. It is shameful that Governor Hochul failed to publicly call for his resignation.”
Stefanik called for Governor Kathy Hochul to immediately push for the removal of Jim Malatras from his post after the independent Cuomo investigation revealed Malatras directly attacked and sought to discredit one of Cuomo’s victims and that he also played a key role in former Governor Cuomo’s attempt to falsify and withhold data on COVID-19 nursing home deaths.
