Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today released the below statement following the news that the Biden Administration is giving American citizens 48 hours to evacuate Ukraine:
“Joe Biden’s weakness on the world stage has emboldened our foreign adversaries, and now the reality of Vladimir Putin invading our democratic partner in Ukraine is becoming more imminent.
“Not only has Joe Biden’s inaction brought Europe to the brink of catastrophe, but his failed leadership once again risks abandoning American citizens in a war zone.
“We witnessed the tragic consequences of the Abandoner-in-Chief in Afghanistan, and now he continues this dereliction of duty by saying the United States won’t rescue Americans in Ukraine.
“Both democracy and the world are less safe with Joe Biden as President. America deserves strong leadership on the world stage. I will be closely monitoring this national security crisis.”
Stefanik is a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
