Johnstown, New York – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today attended her 1,500th in-district event at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Appreciation Breakfast, where she received the FCSO Recognition Award for support of mental health and suicide prevention services for veterans and police.

“At my 1,500th event serving New York’s 21st District, I cannot think of a better place to be than with the brave law enforcement officers and first responders in Johnstown,” Stefanik said. “I am honored to receive the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Recognition Award for my work to support mental health and suicide prevention services for our veterans and police, who have made incredible sacrifices for our safety. The importance of mental health resources for our law enforcement and our veterans is something that can no longer be ignored, and I am committed to ensuring they have access to the resources necessary to grapple with mental health struggles to prevent suicides.”

“It was an honor to present Congresswoman Stefanik .with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Recognition Award for her support of mental health and suicide prevention services for veterans and police. Our local law enforcement works hard to protect our communities, and this support is essential to our officers’ continued work. I appreciate her work bringing our concerns to Congress,” Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino said.
