Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today voted to pass the bipartisan Keep Kids Fed Act of 2022 to provide important funding and flexibility for communities to provide children healthy meals and provide support to schools and daycares.
“I am proud to join my colleagues in advancing legislation to support our schools and ensure children can access the food they need,” Stefanik said. “As schools are feeling the pain of the current inflation and supply chain crises, it is imperative our students can still access the nutrition they need. This solution will help our school meal programs return to normal operations, so the children who need it the most can access nutritious meals to fuel their healthy development.”
Specifically, this legislation provides continued flexibility and assistance for school meal programs to address increased costs due to the inflation and supply chain crises and help schools smoothly transition back to normal operations since the COVID-19 pandemic.
