Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today announced LifeWorks Community Action, Inc. in Ballston Spa in Saratoga County will receive $2,301,666 for Head Start Projects from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“Over two million in taxpayer dollars will be returned to our district in the form of this grant,” Stefanik said. “Head Start serves many families in Upstate New York and the North Country, and this investment will help it continue its mission of ensuring school readiness and positively impact the future of our communities.”

The Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood education and development services to promote school readiness for low-income children.

This year, Stefanik was awarded the 2022 PROMISE (Protecting Our Most Important Students Early) Award by National Head Start Association (NHSA) in recognition of her steadfast commitment to Head Start and to serving our nation’s most vulnerable children and their families.
