Washington, D.C. –  Congresswoman Elise Stefanik made the following statement on the release of an updated National Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Strategic Plan for 2019:

"I am very pleased to see continued momentum in support of Artificial Intelligence, and in particular, continued American leadership in this area,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “Along with the establishment of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence that I helped create, the updated National AI Research and Development Strategy Plan and Executive Order 13859 set the right trajectory for our nation and our economy. We must remain a global leader in the development of AI and associated technologies, and I look forward to working with the White House and Congress to ensure we do not fall behind."

Congresswoman Stefanik is Ranking Member on the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence, Emerging Threats and Capabilities.
