Washington, DC – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik announced that Adirondack Community Action Programs, Inc. has been awarded a grant of $56,281 for their Head Start program from the Department of Health and Human Services. Head Start programs are free, federally funded programs designed to help children from low-income families succeed in school.

“I am excited to announce that more than $56,000 taxpayer dollars will be returned to the district for the Adirondack Community Action Programs’ Head Start program,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “Our Head Start programs are critical to helping children in our North Country schools succeed, as school closures stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic have forced children to miss out on in-person learning and risk falling behind. This funding will create educational opportunities for our kids and set them up for success.”
