Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has cosponsored the Hamas International Financing Protection Act, led by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05). This legislation imposes sanctions on foreign persons, agencies, and foreign state institutions that support Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or any member of a foreign terrorist organization who knowingly supports them.
“The world has watched in horror as Hamas, a terrorist organization, has attacked Israel, one of the United States’ strongest allies,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “It is crucial that the United States use all instruments of power to combat and diminish these terrorist groups, including sanctioning those who materially support them. This bill seeks to weaken Hamas and other terrorist groups who threaten Israel and seek to further destabilize the Middle East. The United States will not tolerate the actions of these terrorists.”
