Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik released the below statement following the ICE, federal, state, and local law enforcement press conference about the Green Light Law:

“I stand united and in support of federal, state, county, and local law enforcement officers who continue to share their concerns and united opposition to Governor Cuomo’s Green Light Law today,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “The state of New York has barred law enforcement from very basic information needed to protect our North Country communities, information that is available to them in every single other state. Today, law enforcement officers were extremely clear – the Green Light Law will result in injury or worse to ICE, CBP, and Border Patrol officers who are trying to do their job to keep our communities safe by stopping human and drug trafficking across our border and heinous crimes against children. It is completely unacceptable that the Cuomo Administration has gotten in the way of this critical work. I will continue to work with state, local, and federal officials to stop this dangerous policy and I stand united with North Country law enforcement in support of the rule of law.”
