Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is co-leading the Military Retiree Appreciation Day Resolution along with Congressman Josh Harder (D-CA). This bipartisan resolution designates an annual “Military Retiree Appreciation Day” in order to show our appreciation and gratitude to individuals who faithfully served and retired from the Armed Forces of the United States.
“Our military retirees have dedicated a large part of their life to service to their country, and we as a nation are forever indebted to them,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “I am proud to co-lead this bipartisan resolution to celebrate and express my gratitude to those who have served and fought courageously for our freedom. It is my hope that this encourages Americans to honor the past and continued service of military retirees to their local communities and the United States.”
A military retiree is a service member who has served at least 20 years, or was medically retired. Military Retiree Appreciation Day is designated for April 18.
