Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Elise Stefanik joined her colleagues in sending a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Durbin and Ranking Member Grassley requesting a full investigation into Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s alarming judicial philosophy towards child sex offenders.
“Judge Jackson’s alarming soft-on-crime record, especially when it comes sentencing child pornography cases and defending terrorists, brings great concern to her potential service on the highest Court in the land,” Stefanik said. “When crime is skyrocketing across the country, now is not the time to take lightly a Supreme Court Justice who opposes taking dangerous criminals off our streets. Judge Jackson must answer for her record before a lifetime appointment to our nation’s highest Court.”
“Dating back more than a decade, to her time as Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, it appears she has exhibited a profoundly troubling pattern of leniency towards some of the most disturbing crimes in our society. Incredibly, for every child pornography case in which Judge Jackson has ruled and for which records are available, she deviated from federal sentencing guidelines in favor of the offenders,” the lawmakers wrote.
