Washington, D.C. – During his State of the Union address last night, President Trump surprised the family of Sergeant First Class Townsend Williams with his unexpected return from deployment in Afghanistan. Sergeant Williams is originally a native of Peru, New York. He is also a past Peru Fire Department Firefighter.
“Witnessing the reuniting of Sergeant Williams with his family was truly an amazing moment,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “I am proud that Sergeant Williams hails from the North Country, and it was incredible to witness him and his family reunite as they were honored for the sacrifices they have made in the name of our freedom. I thank Sergeant Williams for his service, and I am proud that President Trump reaffirmed his support for our military families.”
