Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today voted against Democrats’ $3.5 trillion tax and spending spree during the House Education and Labor Committee’s markup of the package that would raise taxes on small businesses, expand government control over the lives of Americans, and bankrupt future generations.
Stefanik released the following statement after Democrats took another step forward to advance their $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package.
“Today I voted against Democrats’ continued push to force Far-Left priorities on the American people,” Stefanik said. “It is evident their $3.5 trillion package is nothing more than a Socialist wish list of spending proposals that would expand the government’s role in the lives of students, workers, and job creators, while funneling taxpayer dollars to colleges that partner with Communist China and giving free college to illegal immigrants. The reality is this reckless spending spree will only increase inflation – imposing a tax on every American – and bankrupt our future generations. I will continue to oppose it for the sake of the American people. Our nation’s future is at stake.”
