Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today announced Community Action Planning Council in Jefferson County will receive $1,468,372 for Head Start Projects from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“Today, I am announcing over one million in taxpayer dollars will be returned to Jefferson County in the form of this grant,” Stefanik said. “Head Start serves many families in Upstate New York and the North Country, and this investment will help it continue its mission of ensuring school readiness.”
The Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood education and development services to promote school readiness for low-income children.
This year, Stefanik was awarded the 2022 PROMISE (Protecting Our Most Important Students Early) Award by National Head Start Association (NHSA) in recognition of her steadfast commitment to Head Start and to serving our nation’s most vulnerable children and their families.
