New York’s 21st Congressional District, one of the largest geographically in the Eastern United States, includes Clinton, Franklin, St. Lawrence, Lewis, Hamilton, Essex, Warren, Washington, Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Schoharie, and parts of Jefferson, Rensselaer, and Otsego Counties. The district borders both Vermont and Canada, encompasses the Adirondack Park, and attracts tourists and visitors from around the globe. Upstate New York and the North Country is proud to be the home of Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, Lake Placid and the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Winter Games, the birthplace of women’s suffragist Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a diverse and vibrant agricultural industry, and millions of acres of parks and thousands of miles of lakes and rivers. The region is also home to the largest population of seniors and one of the largest populations of veterans in New York State.
