Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today voted to pass the Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R. 1), a historic energy package to address skyrocketing energy costs and Joe Biden’s unprecedented war on American energy.
“House Republicans are putting an end to Joe Biden’s war on American energy and driving down skyrocketing costs for hardworking families,” Stefanik said. “Since his first day in office, Joe Biden has enacted a radical Far Left anti-energy agenda that ended American energy independence, causing the average price of gas in my district to reach a historic high of over five dollars a gallon and creating the highest home heating prices in over two decades. This bill will put an end to Joe Biden’s attack on American energy independence on behalf of families working to heat their homes and fill up their cars. Today, House Republicans are fulfilling a major pillar in our Commitment to America by increasing domestic energy production, decreasing prices, and restoring American energy dominance.”
H.R. 1 would unleash American energy and lower costs for families by:
- Increasing domestic energy production
- Reforming the permitting process for all industries
- Reversing anti-energy policies advanced by the Biden Administration
- Streamlining energy infrastructure and exports
- Boosting the production and processing of critical minerals
Stefanik has warned against Democrats’ war on American energy that has caused costs to skyrocket in New York’s 21st District.
