Saratoga, N.Y. - House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik released the following statement.
"Today is a historic day of justice for the Jewish people, the state of Israel, and humanity worldwide. Yahya Sinwar, an embodiment of pure evil and the barbarian leader of Hamas who was the mastermind of the October 7th atrocities has been eliminated.
During Yahya Sinwar’s October 7th attack, Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists slaughtered over 1,200 innocent civilians, including 46 Americans, and took over 250 Israeli civilians hostage, over 100 of which remain hostage today. Israel’s elimination of Sinwar has made the world safer by taking out an evil terrorist leader that sought the destruction of both Israel and the United States.
Israel has every right to continue to eliminate the Iranian-backed terrorist organization, secure the release of every hostage, and protect their sovereignty. The United States must stand strong with Israel as it fights for its very existence and stands as a beacon of democracy and freedom in the Middle East."
