Saratoga, N.Y. - Today, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik announced that the Fort Ticonderoga Association received a grant of $152,382 from the National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks of American History and Culture for K-12 Educators grant program.
This grant will enable the Fort Ticonderoga Association to offer two week-long workshops next summer for teachers across the country to explore the implications of the American Revolution which will in turn enrich the educational experiences of our students.
“I am proud to have helped secure funding for the Fort Ticonderoga Association so that they can invest in a professional development program for our school teachers. Upstate New York and the North Country are the cradle of the American Revolution which is why bolstering efforts by the Fort Ticonderoga Association to educate our teachers about the role our region played in the founding of our nation is a top priority of mine,” said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Battlefield Caucus, Congresswoman Stefanik is a consistent champion in preserving our many battlefields and historic sites in Upstate New York, the North Country, and across our great nation.
In November 2023, Stefanik’s bipartisan legislation, the American Battlefield Protection Program Enhancement Act passed the House of Representatives unanimously. This legislation makes improvements to the American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) and would allow non-profits such as Fort Ticonderoga to apply for ABPP Battlefield Land Acquisition Grants directly.
