Saratoga, N.Y. - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik released the following statement:
“As a member of the Congressional Emergency Medical Services Caucus, I am proud to announce that following my advocacy the Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. in Herkimer County has been awarded a $200,000 SIREN Act grant. These funds, provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, will help Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. purchase equipment, facilitate essential trainings, and meet critical needs throughout New York’s 21st Congressional District,” said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
Congresswoman Stefanik recently voted to pass the SIREN Reauthorization Act to authorize SIREN Act grant funding through FY 2028. SIREN grants are the only federal program that exists specifically to support rural Emergency Medical Services operations.
