Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today voted to pass the Freedom for Health Care Workers Act (H.R. 497) that will end the unconstitutional COVID-19 vaccine mandates that cost our healthcare workers their jobs and exacerbated staffing shortages.

“I am proud to stand up for our healthcare workers, who carried us through the pandemic,” Stefanik said. “Instead of thanking them for their service, Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine power grab forced them out of the workforce and created a staffing crisis and healthcare shortage for Americans. I am proud to work to put an end to these unconstitutional mandates attacking the personal freedoms of our frontline workers and ensure our hospitals and healthcare centers have the staff they need to serve the American people.”

Stefanik has been standing up against vaccine mandates for healthcare workers that have exacerbated staffing shortages in New York and negatively impacted access to rural healthcare.
