On Passing President Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Budget Bill:

“We have a once in a generation opportunity with President Trump in the White House, with Senate Republican majority and a House Republican majority. We know that we must deliver for the American people. This is about securing the border, unleashing American energy independence, cutting taxes, whether it's no tax on tips, lowering taxes for hardworking American families, small businesses, and making sure that we have economic policies that boost economic growth while also accomplishing significant fiscal savings. Too often, Washington has been out of control. We need to get this done to save our country for the next generation. So, we're committed to doing so. President Trump was able to deliver this victory because of his relationships with all the House Republicans, all the Senate Republicans, and, most importantly, because of his strong mandate from the American people.”

On Leading as Chairwoman of House Republican Leadership:

“I think it's very important that we execute on President Trump's agenda. As you know, I was the first member of Congress who endorsed President Trump for his 2024 election. I'm proud to be one of his longest serving and most senior allies and one of his most loyal allies in the House. And we saw this past week with the slim House majority, one vote, literally the rule passed by one vote. I cast that deciding vote to move that process forward, to ultimately pass the budget. So in this slim majority, we need to unify and communicate with the American people what we are delivering and continue that effort to support President Trump. I was here during the first term. We need to make sure that we continue to act on this mandate and get it done. And when it comes to fiscal savings, making sure that we are stepping up to the plate, protecting next generations, making sure that we have those cost savings, standing up for us taxpayers, and also cutting taxes, making sure that we're keeping our promise that President Trump made on the campaign trail when it came to no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, making sure that we're addressing some of the SALT issues in the blue states, which I've been active on for a number of years, as well as securing the border and unleashing American energy dominance, which was crushed under Joe Biden.”

On President Trump Being a Master Dealmaker:

“First of all, we have the strongest economy in the world, and it will only get stronger with President Trump. President Trump is the master dealmaker around the world, and this is a return to America First policies. Look at the over 70 countries that have come to the table after President Trump's tariff announcements. We have a huge opportunity to make sure that we are standing up for American manufacturers, American small businesses, Main Street, and for too long, we have been taken advantage of. Look, for young families who are my age, we have seen the loss of manufacturing jobs. I've seen that in my home district where I grew up in Upstate New York. It is time to put our country first, and President Trump is the strongest leader to do so. Yes, of course he's going to continue to press China because so many of these jobs China has eaten our lunch under failed presidents of the past. No longer under President Trump. So, he does have China exactly where he wants him, and President Trump will always put the American worker first. This is about hardworking American families. This is about the American economy.”

On Continuing to Hold Universities Accountable for Antisemitism:

“I want to focus on holding these colleges and universities accountable for their failure to address and root out antisemitism. As you know, this continues to be a top priority. I sit on the Education, Workforce Committee, was the lead questioner, and led to the firing of multiple university presidents. We have an opportunity to save higher education, frankly, from itself to be good stewards of U.S. taxpayer dollars and to no longer prop up antisemitism. I also want to make sure we secure the border. I represent a border district. I know there's a lot of focus on the U.S.-Mexico border, but we also have a catastrophe on the U.S.-Canadian border as well, and I want to save our fiscal house for the next generation. I think about that as a mom of my young three-year-old son, Sam. So, there's a list of agenda items that I want to get done and work with President Trump to achieve that.”
