Saratoga, N.Y.- Congresswoman Elise Stefanik delivers federal disaster relief funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help New York communities in Essex, Hamilton, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties following the severe flooding caused by the heavy wind and rain on July 10th and 11th that severely impacted counties and municipalities across New York’s 21st Congressional District.
“As the Representative of the New York counties most impacted by the disastrous July 10th storms, I am proud to announce this significant result of significant federal funding from FEMA for our local communities impacted.” Said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21).
This funding was the result of Stefanik’s continuous advocacy. In August 2024, Stefanik sent a letter to New York Governor Kathy Hochul urging her to submit a request for a Presidential disaster declaration to FEMA after seeing the severe damage and destruction suffered by communities in her district. Stefanik followed up on this letter with an additional request to the Biden-Harris Administration demanding federal support for the State of New York.
