FULTONVILLE, NY - Today, House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik celebrated the groundbreaking of the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division Facility with Montgomery County officials and first responders.

“As the proud representative of NY21, I was honored to help deliver over $1.5 million in federal funding to make this long-overdue EMS facility a reality in Montgomery County,” said Chairwoman Stefanik. “This groundbreaking marks a major investment in public safety and in our heroic first responders. I will always ensure our upstate community has the tools to save lives and keep our families safe.”

"As Sheriff of Montgomery County, I am proud to recognize the tremendous impact this new EMS facility and life-saving equipment—made possible through a $1.575 million grant from Congresswoman Elise Stefanik—will have on our community. Congresswoman Stefanik has been an unwavering partner and advocate for all first responders, and her continued support ensures that we are better equipped, better prepared, and better able to serve the residents of Montgomery County when they need us most,” said Montgomery County Sheriff Jeffery T. Smith.

Stefanik secured $1,575,000 in federal funding for the project through the Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriations Package. The funding was delivered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture as part of the chairwoman's Community Project Funding Requests.

The new facility will improve emergency response capabilities across Montgomery County by providing a centralized, modern hub for EMS operations.

Local leaders attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including Montgomery County Sheriff Jeffery Smith and County Executive Pete Vroman.
